BIO

Kara Hill joined the Port in 2022 as the Director of Strategic Projects where she leads various aspects of planning, design coordination and funding for new development projects. She has over 20 years of diverse experience in critical infrastructure, construction, public policy, and economic development. Prior to the Port, Ms. Hill worked for CPS Energy, first leading their local government affairs team, and later overseeing account management for the utility’s largest customers and most complex developments. Previously, Ms. Hill also owned two successful businesses in the commercial construction and consulting industries and served as the Military Liaison for former Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff during the 2005 BRAC. She earned an MBA degree from St. Mary’s University and an undergraduate degree from Trinity University. Ms. Hill currently serves on the management committee for the Urban Land Institute, San Antonio chapter, was a member of Leadership San Antonio Class 36 and Steering Committee, Class 44 and has been recognized as a 40 Under 40 rising star by the San Antonio Business Journal.
