The University Health Palo Alto Hospital includes new construction at a location in south San Antonio across form Texas A&M- San Antonio. This site will feature a new full-service, 5 story, 166-bed hospital with shell space to support an additional 80 beds, a connected MOB configured for future separate ownership, surface parking, and a helipad adjacent to the ED. This hospital will have its own central utility plant. This hospital will focus on five adult service lines: General medicine, Obstetrics, General Surgery, Cardiac, and Orthopedics.
The Tour:
The tour will move through the first and second floors. The first floor is the podium level which contains all the critical operations of the hospital. Starting at The Emergency Department, we will move to the east to the main lobby, then Imaging, PACU, Surgery, Sterile Processing, and Central Utility Plant on the far east of the project. From here, we will move upstairs to Level 2 which is the first level of the patient bed tower. Moving west through a Med Surg wing, then moving into Labor and Delivery, C-section ORs, NICU, and Labor and Delivery patient rooms. We will head back downstairs at the west end of the building back where we started at the ED.
On the patient floors, we will highlight the prefabrication efforts including the patient room restroom pods. These pods are completely finished bathrooms that were built in Pennsylvania, then shipped to the project and installed as complete units
Current project status:
All walls are framed, and drywall is being installed in some areas. Most overhead rough in is complete. Nearly all mechanical equipment has been installed. This will be a great opportunity to review all of the infrastructure required for a hospital that you would not normally see when walls and ceilings are closed, and these conditions are concealed. Think of it as being able to look under the hood. No finishes, other than paint, or medical equipment has been installed yet.
Sponsor this event for only $250!
