John Cyrier is the former State Representative for House District 17 who represented a sprawling five-county district east of Austin in the Texas House and is Chairman of the Texas Sunset Advisory Commission, an agency that reviews state agencies to make government more effective, efficient, and responsive to the needs of Texans. He previously chaired the Committee on Culture, Recreation, and Tourism. John formerly served as Caldwell County Commissioner and founded and served as managing director of a commercial construction firm that was consistently named one of the best places to work by the Austin Business Journal and Austin American-Statesman, and a five-time winner of the Aggie 100 award for the fastest growing Aggie-owned companies in the world.


John is a three-time nominee for the Austin Business Journal's CEO of the Year award and previously served on the executive board for the Central Texas Food Bank and was board chair of Caritas of Austin, a nonprofit with over 80 staff members that works to end homelessness by fostering self-reliance and wellbeing.


John is also a licensed pilot and Captain in the Texas State Guard.

A natve of San Marcos, Dr. Daniel Guerrero is a Distinguished Alumnus of San

Marcos High School, holds multiple certificates from Austn Community College, a

Bachelor of Mass Communications from Texas State University, a Master of

Organizational Leadership and Ethics, and a Doctor of Leadership and Higher

Educaton from St. Edward’s University.


Dr. Guerrero previously served as the Assistant Dean of Students for Student

Development and Leadership Programs and taught Global Business and

Leadership as an adjunct professor at Texas State University. Daniel is now the

MBA Program Chair and an Assistant Professor of Business at Concordia University - Texas.


In addition to his role in higher education, he is a Senior Consultant for J.L. Powers

& Associates, serving clients in industries focused on Environment, Sustainability,

and Governance (ESG) as a Certified Zero Waste TRUE Advisor. Dr. Guerrero is also a Senior Consultant with AXIOM Learning Solutions focused on organizational development, team dynamics, and executive leadership.


Dr. Guerrero previously served the City of San Marcos as a city council member

and then as Mayor from 2004 – 2010. He is currently a gubernatorial appointee to

the Texas State Board of Pharmacy and serves on numerous boards of directors

throughout the state of Texas.


Dr. Guerrero is a 40-year cancer survivor, an avid world traveler, a Blue October

fanatic, a certified NAUI scuba diver, and enjoys spending time with his rescued



Geoffrey Tahuahua

President 

ABC of Texas


 Geoffrey Tahuahua is President of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Texas, the voice of the merit shop construction industry at the Texas Capitol. ABC Texas is comprised of over 1,700 members across eight chapters and represents all specialties within the Texas construction industry, including the industrial and commercial sectors. Geoffrey oversees legislative and political efforts for ABC Texas. 

Prior to joining ABC Texas, Geoffrey served as Vice President of Policy and Government Affairs for the Real Estate Council of Austin, where he developed over 500 process improvement recommendations for the City of Austin and successfully shepherded RECA’s top priority bills through the legislative process. Geoffrey has also worked for the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin, the Texas Public Policy Foundation, and the Texas House of Representatives. 

Geoffrey lives in Dripping Springs with his wife and son, where he also serves on the Dripping Springs City Council.
