The area near East Riverside Drive between downtown Austin and the Austin Bergstrom International Airport epitomizes the car-dominated environment that is typical of much of the modern American landscape, but recent redevelopment interest created an opportunity to change the rules for new development so that it will be more people-oriented and supportive of transit.
