WHY?

Especially with a new promise by a new President  to address infrastructure needs in the U.S., there will be an increasing need for professional leadership and staffing in our design and construction industry. It is important for organizations to be able to attract, support, and retain people of all genders.  With the increase of women entering the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, we need to be able to understand the value that women bring, and identify and address the specific needs of women in our industry, including those A/E’s who are on the facility Owner's side.

HOW?

This half-day Mini-Forum will provide a venue to openly discuss the issues affecting women in our industry and ideas to address those issues.

The program includes:

Keynote presentation by Carol Warkoczewski, AIA, City Architect of the City of San Antonio and Founder of I-LinCP.

Presentation by Kimley-Horn Engineers with an update on their LIFT initiative to support women in practice.

Panel discussion with accomplished women in our industry.

Facilitated table discussions and an open discussion with your peers.

Networking reception.

WHAT?

You will come away with ideas you can implement within your organization to build processes and a supportive culture for women.

  • A visual note-taker will produce a comprehensive graphic in-the-moment.

  • Presenters and Panelists: architecture, engineering, contruction, facility Owner
  • Table Facilitators:  one for each table, with tables divided into industry segments:  architects, engineers, contractors, subs/trades, Owners
