Marie Hoke

Past-President: 2014

Marie Hoke, AIA

Marie Hoke has recently formed her own practice after over 27 years of specialized experience managing & designing projects for education, higher education, performing arts and civic clients. My commitment to seeking and attaining best value for my clients was born out of my experience working as a Sr Project Manager for UH FP&C and introducing the first CM at Risk project to the University.

My strong interest in working as a team grew out of my experience assembling and positioning team members to ensure a well-balanced approach to project delivery - with design, management and technical expertise equally represented. The strong camaraderie and respect for each other’s talents that we shared allowed us to keep achieving milestone after milestone - including many firsts: the first Performing Arts Center project (James and Nancy Gaertner Performing Arts Center at Sam Houston State University), the first Student Center project (University Center Transformation at the University of Houston), the first K-12 project (Lee High School for Houston Independent School District) and the first High Profile Civic Project (George R. Brown Convention Center Renovation).

I have a particular interest in projects that bring together art and architecture and have served on many art panels and art selection committees including the James and Nancy Gaertner Performing Arts Center, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Woodlands Center for Sam Houston State University, the Concert Hall Renovation at the University of North Texas State and the George R Brown Renovation for Houstonfirst.
